Ahmed Arbee, the previous Chairperson of the Africa Chapter of the International Association of Refugee and Migration Judges (IARMJ).
Ever since the founding meeting of the Africa Chapter in September 2006, Ahmed has steered the Africa Chapter to be the fastest growing Chapter in the IARMJ.
In 2009, South Africa had the opportunity to host the first World conference in the African Continent followed by another highly successful World Conference in Tunisia in 2014.
Ahmed established the first South African Refugee Appeal Board in 2000 in terms of the Refugee Act of South Africa and served as Chairperson of the Board till 2005.
In accordance with the Africa Chapter Document of Governance, placing great priority on professional development and training of Judges and Quasi Judicial Decision Makers, Ahmed coordinated regional seminars in Rabat Morocco in 2009, in Abuja, Nigeria and Mombassa Kenya in October 2012.
Ahmed has addressed numerous conferences of the Association including the CARFMS Conference at Ryerson University Toronto Canada in May 2015.
Currently Ahmed also serves in Non Governmental Community Organisations in South Africa.
